Purpose: As the NextGen Ministries Leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the spiritual growth and development of youth and children within Lake Sarah Baptist Church. You will develop innovative programming and foster a nurturing environment where individuals can encounter and grow in their faith journey to become lifelong disciples of Jesus and impactful leaders in their communities.
Compensation: $50-60K annually and PTO (There is also a four-bedroom parsonage available if desired)
Reports to: Lead or Head Pastor
Primary Responsibilities:
- Spiritual Leadership:
- Provide leadership for Family Life Ministries, aligning it with the overall mission and values of Lake Sarah Baptist Church.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for spiritual formation and discipleship tailored to children, youth, intergenerational ministries.
- Build meaningful relationships, offering care, guidance, and support to youth and children.
- Program Development:
- Plan, implement and evaluate engaging and relevant curriculum. Develop and participate in activities for various age groups, specifically children, youth and intergenerational ministries.
- Collaborate with ministry teams and volunteers to integrate these curriculum and events.
- Recruiting and training volunteers to serve effectively in youth and children’s ministries.
- Community Engagement:
- Extend the reach and impact of the Lake Sarah Baptist Church NextGen Ministry by being a presence at various community functions and events.
- Organize and promote outreach initiatives for youth including ministry projects, mission trips.
- Administrative Duties:
- Oversee the administrative aspects of the NextGen Ministry, including budget management, scheduling, and communications.
- Work collaboratively with church staff, boards and members and be familiar with and follow the Lake Sarah Baptist Church policies.

Education/Experience:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree and/or proven experience in ministry leadership, particularly with children and youth.
Relevant Knowledge: or Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of child and adolescent development, with the ability to tailor programming to meet diverse needs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
- Proficiency in relevant technology and software for communication, event planning, and record-keeping.
- Self-motivated and ability to work independently.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and flexible schedule.
